STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION
A metallic sandwich diaphragm clamped with static seals is located between the valve head and the piston housing upper part. It hermetically separates the gas chamber from the oil-lubricated drive. Contamination of the medium by lubricants and particles is thus completely avoided. Due to this design, sera metal diaphragm compressors are also hermetically sealed to the outside, allowing for the safe compression of toxic and explosive gases.
The oscillating motion of the clamped diaphragm cyclically enlarges and reduces the gas chamber. Gas drawn in through the intake valve is compressed in this manner and expelled through the discharge valve. The diaphragm's vibration is triggered by an oil cushion, which is cyclically pressurized by a piston driven by a crank mechanism.
